Mass Media Coverage of Conflict Resolution: An Examination within the Framework of Social Responsibility Theory

0 downloads1 views
Abstract

This study examines the role of mass media in conflict resolution within the framework of the Social Responsibility Theory. Conflict resolution remains a critical agenda for national, regional, and international organizations. The media, as a major force in shaping public perception, plays an essential role in either mitigating or escalating conflicts. This paper explores how the media can contribute to peacebuilding by promoting balanced reporting, avoiding sensationalism, and providing diverse viewpoints. Additionally, it highlights the ethical responsibilities of journalists in conflict reporting and the potential consequences of biased or inflammatory coverage. The researchers conclude that the media should act as a bridge for conflict resolution rather than a catalyst for violence.
